The given equipment is intended for clearing of gases of composite impurity, that is impurity of technogenic, microbiological and a phyto genesis, and can be used in many industries, except for those where in contact to the water impurities are emited, forming fire-dangerous and dangerously explosive mixes.
In a vortical turbulent washer with the device, capable to generate impulsive corona discharges (then VTW from the ICD) are used dry, wet and electric ways of clearing of gases which are realised by the greatest possible number of methods, including gravitational, inertial, centrifugal, absorption, a method of a filtration and influence of an electromagnetic field.
Therefore clearing of gases of the weighed impurities occurs to efficiency of 99,6-99,9 %; from gaseous impurity - 94-97 % (at the use of pure water), and more than 99 % (at the use of absorbents); due to the influence of electromagnetic field microorganisms are destroyed, and also there is a clearing of ions of heavy metals.
The principle of work of the VTW with ICD consists in the following: cleared gas arrives on clearing in an inlet fitting on which it gets to the distributive chamber. From the distributive chamber gas, passing on whirler channels, twists and gets to the working chamber where, rotating, part of the gas falls to the bunker. Before start of work of the device the bunker is filled with water. The rotating stream of the gas which has fallen to the bunker, grasps with itself a part of a liquid and transfers to the working chamber where the liquid is dispersed on drops and, rotating, forms a cylindrical dripping-granular layer. The gas arriving on clearing simultaneously both supports this layer and is filtered through it that provides high efficiency of clearing of gases and an intensive heat-mass exchange between cleared gas and liquid drops.
In the case of accumulation of liquid in the working chamber for more than critical weight its part together with the caught impurities will fall in the bunker. The mix passes in the bunker through irradiation with impulsive corona discharges and become cleared of impurities, including of microorganisms and ions of heavy metals. As a result impurities fall down on a bunker bottom, and the liquid participates in a recirculation, i.e. there is a clearing of both gases and a liquid.
Gas from the working chamber after passage through a dripping-granular layer arrives in the separating chamber, grasping with itself a liquid part. In the separating chamber drops of liquid separate from gas by means of a conical droplet separator and flow down in the working chamber, and the cleared gas leaves from the device.
The water gas mix also passes clearing in the separating chamber at the expense of factors of an impulsive corona discharge.

Fig. 1. The scheme of the VTW from the ICD
The system generating impulsive corona discharges, is characterised by the expanded zone of ionisation which occupies all working volume of the electrode zone located in the VTW. Placing of the device, capable to generate impulsive corona discharges in the VTW, allows to provide clearing of gases not only of the weighed and gaseous impurities, but also of ions of heavy metals and microorganisms.
Thus, by means of the developed design of VTW with ICD devices the complex clearing of gases of composite impurity before their ejection in atmosphere is provided.
